Volumizing Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours by adding fullness beneath the skin. They are commonly used to soften wrinkles, plump areas like the lips and cheeks, and improve facial symmetry, creating a more youthful appearance with minimal downtime. At Nurture Aesthetics & Wellness, we focus on natural looking results to improve facial balancing and contour.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are minimally invasive injectables comprising hyaluronic and poly-L-lactic acid, essential to moisturizing and smoothening skin. They create better skin by stimulating collagen production, a protein that provides structure and strength to the face. We apply filler injectables to achieve the following:

  • Smoothen fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Restore volume to the face.
  • Shape and refine facial contours.
  • Plump and make lips fuller.
  • Soften acne and facial scarring.
  • Improve skin texture and complexion.

What Are the Benefits of Dermal Fillers?

If you want to enhance your skin’s elasticity and improve your skin’s beauty, fillers may be suitable for you. Patients choose this solution because it is:

Non-Surgical

Fillers are surgery-free, eliminating the need for extensive procedures or recovery time.

Fast Acting

Many patients notice smoother, fuller skin immediately, with results usually lasting six months to two years.

Natural-Looking

You'll get softer, younger-looking skin that looks natural, regardless of age or skin condition.

Pre-Care Instructions for Dermal Fillers

Our pre-care guidance includes:

  • Stop using laser treatments, intense pulsed light, chemical peeling, dermabrasion, or any dermal procedure four weeks before filler treatment.
  • You should stop using retinol and prescription-strength face creams two days before and after treatment.
  • To prevent blood thinning, don’t consume alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Ensure your face is clean and makeup-free before arriving at our office.
  • Ideal candidates should not be currently taking antibiotics.
  • We’ll have to reschedule if you develop a rash, cold sore, or blemish on the targeted area before your appointment.
  • If you have a special event coming up, we recommend scheduling your treatment at least two weeks before it.

Post-Care Dermal Filler Instructions

Take these steps after treatment:

  • Avoid touching, massaging, or manipulating the targeted areas for 24 to 48 hours so the fillers stay in place.
  • If you’ve gotten lip fillers, you should abstain from smoking, sipping straws, and other strenuous lip activity for 48 hours.
  • Don’t consume alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours after treatment to prevent blood thinning, bruising, and swelling.
  • You should avoid intense exercise, heat, and the sun 24 hours after dermal treatment.
  • Immediately following treatment, you may experience some minor swelling and bruising.
  • Please contact us if you have any excessive pain or swelling, skin blanching, redness, irritation, skin warmth, blisters, or abnormally dark bruising.
  • You should wait until after your two-week follow-up appointment to decide whether additional treatments are needed.

FAQs

How Do Botox and Dermal Fillers Differ?

Botox and dermal fillers serve different purposes in aesthetic medicine. Botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, particularly around the forehead and eyes. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, add volume and fullness to areas like the cheeks, lips, and nasolabial folds. Together, they can create a harmonious, youthful appearance.

How Long Does it Take to See Results From Botox and Dermal Fillers?

With Botox, most clients notice improvements within 3 to 7 days as the treatment takes effect. Dermal fillers provide immediate results, but the final outcome may continue to improve over the next few days as any swelling subsides. Both treatments can last several months, depending on the type used and individual factors.
