Lumecca IPL
Intense Pulsed Light Treatment
Looking for a less dull and brighter complexion? IPL Treatments are affordable, quick, non invasive and highly effective at removing those pesky red and brown spots. We typically recommend this service in a series initially, but also every 3-4 weeks for maintenance.
What Is Lumecca IPL, and What Does It Do?
Lumecca harnesses the power of pulsed light to treat an array of skin conditions, including pigmentation and the effects of aging. During treatment, we apply high-intensity light that penetrates deeply to alleviate skin conditions. Lumecca can be used on the face, neck, chest, and hands, providing them with the following benefits:
- Reduced age spots, sun damage, freckles, and melasma.
- Enhanced overall skin clarity and evenness.
- Softened acne scarring and improves skin texture.
- Minimized spider veins, rosacea, and other vascular conditions.
Lumecca IPL vs. Traditional IPL
Like traditional IPL, Lumecca is a non-invasive and versatile treatment. However, they can differ in many ways, including the following:
Lumecca’s high-intensity light produces more energy, often leading to desired results with fewer treatment sessions.
With its advanced technology, Lumecca can target and treat skin conditions more precisely.
Though both are quick, Lumecca often produces visible results after one session with minimal downtime.
Pre-Care Instructions for Lumecca IPL
We recommend doing the following before your Lumecca treatment begins:
- Protect your skin from the sun, and don’t tan for two to four weeks before your treatment.
- If you need to be in the sun, apply SPF 30 sunscreen to the targeted area regularly.
- Don’t use topical skincare products two to three days before treatment to avoid skin irritation.
- If possible, avoid anticoagulant medications for seven to 10 days to reduce bruising and swelling risks.
- Shave the targeted area before treatment so Lumecca can reach it more effectively.
Post-Care Instructions for Lumecca IPL
Here’s what you should do after receiving Lumecca:
- Hide the targeted area from direct sunlight for three weeks after treatment. Wear SPF if you need to be in the sun.
- We recommend applying moisturizer to hydrate your skin and promote the healing and rejuvenation process.
- You can apply makeup directly after treatment if your skin feels good and isn’t irritated or hurting.
- Some mild symptoms like redness, warmth, and swelling may occur, but they should disappear quickly.
- Schedule a follow-up appointment with us so we can assess your treatment progress and answer any questions you have.
How Long Does Lumecca Last?
Though many patients see results after one treatment, more may be required to achieve the best results. Typically, the most visible outcomes occur a week or two after your appointment, lasting between 12 and 18 months. However, every patient is different, and your results may vary depending on your skin’s condition and aftercare practices. When you schedule your first consultation, we’ll assess your skin to determine if Lumecca suits you.
