Traditional Microneedling
How Does the Microneedling Process Work?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that corrects many facial conditions, such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, large pores, and uneven skin complexion or texture. The procedure involves using an FDA-approved device to create tiny punctures in the skin. These punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing response and collagen and elastin production. Once activated, the targeted skin areas will gradually become firmer, smoother, and more youthful looking.
Traditional Microneedling Vs. Morpheus8
Traditional microneedling uses fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin that stimulate collagen production. It’s effective for superficial skin concerns like fine lines and acne scars. Morpheus8includes radiofrequency technology (RF) in the needles. RF enables the needles to penetrate the skin deeper than traditional microneedling, promoting enhanced collagen and elastin production. Morpheus8 also uses thermal energy to contract tissue, which softens deeper wrinkles and scars and improves skin laxity. The key differences between traditional and RF microneedling include:
- Depth: Morpheus8 radiofrequency reaches the skin deeper than traditional microneedling.
- Results: With RF technology, you’ll get tighter, cleaner skin and overall better rejuvenation
- Recovery: Your RF treatments may require longer recovery and downtime.
What Can Microneedling Do for Me?
The benefits of microneedling include the following:
Microneedling is used on many parts of the body, such as the face, neck, and hands. It is suitable for all skin types.
The tiny punctures allow the body to better absorb and process topical skincare products, rehydrating and rejuvenating the skin.
A non-surgical procedure, microneedling requires little to no recovery time, and any side effects will disappear within a few days.
FAQs
What Is Microneedling and How Does it Work?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production. The result is improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and diminished acne scars. The treatment is safe for most skin types and can enhance the effectiveness of your skincare products.
What Is SkinPen Microneedling?
SkinPen is the first FDA-approved microneedling device. During treatment, the SkinPen creates thousands of micro-injuries rapidly, stimulating collagen and elastin production and natural healing processes. It is used to treat many skin concerns like acne scars, wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, and signs of aging. The device is versatile and can be used to treat all skin types.
How Long Is the Recovery Time After Microneedling?
Recovery time after microneedling is typically minimal. Most clients experience mild redness and swelling similar to a sunburn, which usually subsides within a day or two. You can typically resume normal activities almost immediately, although we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure and harsh skincare products for a few days post-treatment.
Can I Combine Different Treatments, Like Botox and Microneedling?
